Hybrid Happenings: STL Photo of the Week

St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) is always trying to improve our energy efficiency, biodiversity, and recycling efforts as well as increase our use of alternative fuel vehicles. Every year, STL participates in the St. Louis Earth Day Festival in Forest Park with a vehicle display and information booth to inform the public of our sustainability efforts. More than 70 percent of STL’s vehicle fleet and equipment are powered by alternative fuel. At this year’s festival on April 27 & 28, STL will have three vehicles on display including our newest alternative fuel vehicle, a plug-in electric hybrid Mitsubishi Outlander, an all-electric Nissan Leaf, and a Chevrolet Silverado that runs on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). STL is once again offering free shuttle rides for visitors to and from Forest Park Community College to the festival grounds on buses powered by CNG.
