Art Travels: STL Photo of the Week
Posted on October 04, 2019 in
St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) hosted its ninth annual Art of Travel gala on Thursday, October 3rd with more than 450 people attending. The Art of Travel gala is the primary fundraiser for the Lambert Art & Culture Program, which supports the temporary and permanent art exhibitions at the airport. The event is also heavily focused on incorporating local artists, featuring their work in the Art of Travel Pop-Up Shop. The Art of Travel Pop-Up Shop features exclusive items made specifically for this event. This year’s artists were Carol Carter, Robert Thomas Mullen, Malaika Tolford, Carmelita Nunez, Leia Zumbro, and Eugenia Alexander. The Art of Travel gala also raises funds through sponsorships, silent auction and raffle ticket sales. This year, the Art of Travel raised over $100,000 - setting a new record and a new level of expectation for our tenth year in 2020, when we will also be celebrating the Airport’s 100 year anniversary.
