Winter has officially arrived at St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL). Starting in the late evening hours of Wednesday, November 14 and continuing throughout Thursday, November 15, STL saw 3.9 inches of snow in the first significant winter weather event of the season. STL, like most airports that experience winter weather, has a fleet of specialized equipment designed for the removal of snow and treatment of pavement on the airfield. Part of this fleet includes the MB5, a multi-tasking snow removal workhorse. It completes four jobs in one: plowing, brooming, air blowing, and deicing, which results in more efficient snow removal operations, and reduces the amount of time it takes to clear runways. Even during winter weather, STL is hustling to get you where you need to go.
