On Friday, August 17th, St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) helped American Airlines (AA) celebrate the retirement of Captain Scott Lagle with a special welcome home surprise. As AA Flight 385 from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to STL taxied to the gate, STL Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) trucks raised their hoses and sprayed water from their trucks, pouring over the iconic MD-83. The lucky retiree, has logged over 30 years of flying, first with Trans World Airlines, then with AA after the two airlines merged. “Captain Lagle is a much-loved employee by all who work with him and he will be missed” says Captain David Andre. Captain Lagle was also greeted with retirement reception at the gate.
