Legendary Legacies: STL Photo of the Week

Posted on April 13, 2018 in News

Passengers at St. Louis Lambert International Airport got a rare view of Boeing F/A-18 Model Cs on Wednesday, April 10th. They performed a fly over in groups of four before breaking off and landing on Runway 12L/30R, creating quite a view for those able to catch it. These jets, part of the Strike Fighter Squadron 34 and the last remaining F/A-18 Model Cs in the Navy, were making their way home to Naval Air Station Oceano in Virginia Beach, Virgina after a six-month deployment. Following their arrival back in the United States, the Navy will no longer be using legacy carriers overseas. In their place, the Navy has been sending the newer generation F/A-18 Super Hornets, a key part of their global fleet.
